Reconsideration

Reconsideration

What is Reconsideration?

Reconsideration is a formal process where IRCC is asked to review a refusal decision on your submitted application. It is not a new application; rather, it asks the officer to reassess your file in light of additional context, clarification, or overlooked information.

When Reconsideration is Appropriate

  • When the refusal may have resulted from a misunderstanding or misinterpretation of your submitted documents.

  • WayMaker believes the officer’s decision may be incorrect or not fully supported by the evidence.

  • When new information or clarification can address concerns raised in the refusal letter.

  • When there are administrative errors or omissions that may have impacted the officer’s decision.

How WayMaker Can Support You

  • We will review your refusal letter and GCMS notes to understand the officer’s reasoning.

  • Our team will advise if reconsideration is the right option for your situation.

  • We will draft and submit a reconsideration request with professional guidance to maximize the chance of a favorable outcome.

Reconsideration is one of several options available after a refusal. Many applicants experience a refusal but achieve a successful outcome after pursuing the right next step. Our team is here to guide you and ensure your application receives the careful attention it deserves.
